Sports Timer

Privacy Policy

Sports Timer does not collect, store or share any personal data.

The app has no permission to use the internet, so it cannot send anything anywhere. Whatever you do in Sports Timer stays on your device. There are no advertisements, no trackers, no analytics, no accounts and nothing to buy.

Applies to Sports Timer for Android (com.timer.tmr). Last updated: 7 August 2026.

What stays on your device

The app keeps a few things in its own private folder, where no other app can read them:

None of this is uploaded. To remove it, uninstall the app or use "Clear data" for Sports Timer in the Android settings. Nothing is kept anywhere else, so there is nothing left elsewhere to delete.

Permissions

Sports Timer asks for three permissions. None of them gives access to personal information:

PermissionWhy
Modify audio settingsTo set the volume of the beeps and the music while a workout runs.
Wake lockTo keep the screen awake during a workout, so the timer stays visible.
Expand status barThe app runs full screen and works with the notification shade.

The app does not ask for access to your storage, location, contacts, accounts, camera or microphone.

Your music

When you choose music, the file picker of Android itself opens. Android then gives the app access to exactly the track or the folder you picked, and to nothing else. The app reads those files to play them. It never copies them, changes them or sends them anywhere.

Feedback by e-mail

"Feedback" opens your own e-mail program with a message ready for FullscreenSportsTimer@gmail.com. Nothing leaves your device until you press send yourself, and you can change or cancel the message first.

For a bug report the app attaches a copy of your timer settings, because that is usually what is needed to find the problem. It holds your workouts and preferences, no personal data. If you would rather not send it, delete the attachment in your e-mail program before sending.

The same applies when you e-mail a backup of your presets from the settings screen: you choose who receives it.

Mail sent this way is used only to answer you and to improve the app. It is never shared with anyone else.

Leaving the app

A few places link to the Google Play Store. Following such a link hands you over to another app, and what happens there is covered by Google's privacy policy and not by this one.

Google Play also collects information about installations, ratings and crashes. That happens outside Sports Timer and is covered by Google's own policy as well.

Children

The app is suitable for all ages. It collects nothing, shows no advertisements and has nothing to buy.

Changes

If this policy ever changes, the new text appears on this page with a new date at the top. The same text is also in the app, under Settings → Privacy Policy.
